The team at Specsavers in Eltham is celebrating the success of one of their colleagues who has recently passed her optical exams.
Student dispensing optician Anne Mulryan recently made the next step to becoming a fully-qualified dispensing optician by passing her cert 4 qualification.
Originally from Cork, 47-year-old Anne, who now lives in Lewisham, has worked in the Eltham store for almost two years and is now awaiting the results of her Preliminary Qualifying Exams to be permitted into the second year of training to become a dispensing optician.
Never too young to learn
Anne said: ‘I’m thrilled to have passed cert 4. My optical career began when I joined the team at Specsavers Lewisham as a dispenser before moving on to lab technician. I also worked with the team in Catford then when I joined the Eltham store I wondered if I was too old to be studying, but now I’m pleased I made the right decision.
‘The team has been a massive support, and I’m really grateful for their help along the way. Hopefully I’ll pass the entrance exams into my second year and soon be on the way to becoming a fully-fledged dispensing optician.’
Praise from the director
Speaking of Anne’s recent success, store director Mike Williams said: ‘I’m delighted that Anne has made it to the next stage in her qualifications. She’s a great asset to our team and I wish her all the best for the next phase in her career – we’re with her every step of the way.’
Anne lives in Lewisham with her husband, son and daughter and enjoys motor biking in her spare time.
