28 year-old Richard Ford is in has been with Specsavers for almost 11 years and is in his second stint with the Eltham store.
Richard’s started out at Specsavers Bromley back in September 2006. Originally he started as a part time member of staff while he continued his studies at Sixth Form College but Richard soon made the decision to make a career out of optics rather than continue into further education.
Richard chose to pursue a management career and worked his way up the ranks, going from optical assistant to store supervisor, then assistant manager before joining the Eltham store as Retail Manager. Richard also worked as a customer service partner for Specsavers Healthcall in between his two spells with Specsavers Eltham, where he is now the Store Manager.
Away from Specsavers, Richard is married and has a three year old daughter, whom he devotes a great deal of his time to. Richard also enjoys playing football and socialising with his friends and other relatives.
Richard says: ‘Given this I’ve only ever actually worked full-time for Specsavers, it really is a testament to them for providing me with such a wealth of career development opportunities and allowing me to progress as far as I have.’
‘I love leading a team which strives for exceptional level of customer service and really enjoy being involved in the day-to-day running of the business. I’m given a great deal of autonomy as the store manager and I feel like I thrive under the responsibility entrusted in me by our director, Mike.’
