Playing their role in keeping children seen on the roads this winter is Specsavers in Egham.

Donations of high visibility jackets

Over the last decade, Specsavers in Egham has championed road safety with the free issue of kids' high viz jackets. This year, local schools - Englefield Green Infants and Manorcroft Primary - were thrilled to get their free allocation.

They are perfect for school outings and help the children remain seen by drivers when out and about.

Be safe this winter

Drivers can also play their role too by having their 2-year eye examinations. Store director, Helen Belkhodja, said: 'Every time a driver gets behind the wheel, their vision has to be fit for driving. That doesn't mean was it ok two years ago.

'Small, subtle changes could go unnoticed so its paramount that everyone is responsible and has their vision checked regularly. Campaigns like Road Safety Week acts a reminder to us all, hence why we have supported its messaging over the last decade.'
