Staff at Specsavers in Edmonton Green had an extra special dress down day on Friday 22 September as they took part in Jeans for Genes Day.
The team supported the day to raise awareness of genetic diseases and support Genetic Disorders UK, raising money on the day for the charity.
Supporting people affected by genetic disorders
Jeans for Genes helps disorder-specific charities and patient groups to deliver inspiring projects and support services for children affected by a genetic disorder in the UK.
There are between 4,000 and 6,000 diagnosed genetic disorders according to Genetics Disorders UK, with one in 25 children being affected by a genetic disorder.
In the UK alone, an estimated 30,000 new babies and children are diagnosed each year.
Store director Anar Desai said: ‘More than half a million children and adults live with a genetic disorder. That is why Jeans for Genes Day is such an important initiative – and why we were so pleased to be able to support it.’
