Specsavers Fort Kinnaird has donated a BMX style bike to Cody’s Xmas Cycle Challenge – a charity set up by Cody McManus to raise money to buy children bikes for Christmas after learning some children will never own or learn how to ride a bike.

Cycle challenge

Keen boxer Cody , aged 9. is embarking on a 36 mile cycle – the distance from The Falkirk Wheel back to Holyrood Boxing Gym where he trains – in an aim to gift bikes for Christmas to disadvantaged children across Edinburgh.

Huge inspiration

Tracy Galloway, store director at Specsavers Fort Kinnaird said: ‘When we heard about Cody’s Xmas Cycle Challenge we were honoured to get involved.

'Cody is such an inspiration and we hope this bike puts a huge smile on someone’s face on Christmas morning.’

British Citizen Youth Award

Cody was announced as a medallist for this year’s British Citizen Youth Award (BCyA) in recognition of his extraordinary contribution to society and acts of kindness.

Now in its second year, the BCyA, in association with Specsavers, seeks to highlight the many acts of bravery, kindness and compassion carried out by young people across the UK.
