The Eccles store has wrapped up a bumper week of fundraising, which saw staff go above and beyond for two charities close to their hearts.
Specsavers in The Mall kicked off its week of goodwill by dressing ‘bright for sight’ on Friday 10 October to mark Guide Dogs Week.
From barking mad to baking mad
And just days later, on 14 October, Specsavers staff switched from barking mad to baking mad, as they served up a selection of homemade cakes in store.
In support of Breast Cancer Care’s Pink Tuesday campaign, budding Mary Berrys at the Eccles store put their best bakes forward in a cake sale to raise funds for the charity. The team were also a vision in pink, as they dressed up for the occasion.
Charity Week Push
Store director Una Martin said: ‘We try to do our bit in store for causes that we care about, and when we found out that Guide Dogs and Breast Cancer Care were holding fundraising days in the same week we decided we would have to gear ourselves up for one big charity week push.
'We felt compelled to take part'
‘We all know someone affected by cancer, so we felt compelled to take part in Pink Tuesday. Baking and fancy dress is the least we can do to support Breast Cancer Care. We want to thank all our customers for getting into the spirit, coming along and laughing at our outfits, quaffing our cakes and donating generously throughout the week.’
