Generous Ebbw Vale residents have helped raise £150 for a Welsh children’s charity by supporting a local opticians’ bake sale fundraiser.
Digging deep for charity
Customers of the Specsavers store on Bethcar Street dug deep for the bake-off themed event, which saw the store’s team channel their inner bakers to raise money for Cerebra.
The Carmarthenshire-based charity supports children with brain conditions, such as autism, cerebral palsy and Down’s syndrome, as well as their families. Experts at it's Innovation Centre also create bespoke products that improve the lives of children, such as a surfboard designed for children with limited mobility and brain conditions.
Sejal Shah, director at Specsavers in Ebbw Vale, says: ‘With the Bake Off back on our TV screens, there was no better time for us to get our oven gloves on and bake a selection of sweet items in aid of this wonderful charity.
‘Cerebra offers vital services to many families across Wales. Our team is delighted to do what it can to ensure the charity is able to continue its great work.’
