Specsavers Ebbw Vale has recently raised £50 for a children’s charity with a fancy dress day and raffle in-store.
Staff at Specsavers on Bethcar Street dressed up as a number of different superheroes and encouraged customers to help them raise funds for Cerebra, a charity that supports children with brain conditions across Wales.
This includes practical support for parents and carers as well as the creation of bespoke items for children, such as sledges and wheelchairs, so they can be as active as possible.
As well as dressing up, staff held a raffle in the store, with prizes including free designer sunglasses, 50 per cent off vouchers and cleaning packs.
In total, the store raised £50 for Cerebra on the day.
Superheroes on show
Sejal Shah, Specsavers Ebbw Vale director, said: ‘Cerebra provides a wide array of important services to children and families around our area, so we were keen to start off our year of fundraising strongly.
‘There was a host of ‘lil monster’s’ and ‘supermen’ on show as we took to fundraising for this worthy cause, which we hope was as much fun for our customers as it was for us.’
