The team at Specsavers Eastbourne are feeling sad this month after saying goodbye to a long-running director at the store.
Martin East, who has been an ophthalmic director at the store for 29 years, has just retired – so the team got together to send him off in style.
Martin opened Specsavers Eastbourne in 1989 and went on to open Specsavers Seaford in 2005. The Eastbourne store moved to its current site, at 8B Arndale Centre, Terminus Road, in February 2017.
Martin has been an optometrist for 36 years and looks forward to spending more time playing golf now he has retired.
A word from the store director
Matt Briggs, retail director in Eastbourne, said: ‘We are all very sad to see Martin leave us, but are delighted for him that he now has the chance to enjoy his retirement and improve his handicap.
‘We are delighted to welcome Jasvinder Saroo to the team as an ophthalmic director, and look forward to working with him as we continue to deliver high-quality eye and hearing care to local people.’
