Specsavers Eastbourne were definitely on the ball for charity at the end of April.

Fundraising in store

The team at the store, at Unit 8B Arndale Centre in Terminus Road, jumped at the chance to take part in Football Shirt Friday for the Bobby Moore Fund for Cancer Research UK.

And they scored an impressive £73 for the charity in the process.

Really good cause

The Bobby Moore Fund for Cancer Research UK was set up 25 years ago by Stephanie Moore MBE, widow of the former England footballer, in his memory to raise funds for research into bowel cancer.

A word from the store director

Matt Briggs, store director in Eastbourne, said: ‘The team had fun dressing up in their football shirts for the day – and it definitely caused a stir with our customers.

‘Since the Bobby Moore Fund was set up, over £23.5 million has been raised for bowel cancer research – but there is still more to do to tackle the disease. We were glad to be able to do our bit.’
