Specsavers opticians in Eastbourne marked its 25th anniversary with a special weekend of birthday celebrations, and used the occasion to raise vital funds for Eastbourne's RNLI Lifeboats.
Mayor Janet Coles opened the celebrations on Saturday 6 September in the Specsavers store at 43 Terminus Road, and saw a host of activities throughout the weekend. A raffle took place with one lucky customer winning a pair of designer glasses and many others enjoying the delicious array of treats on sale. To mark the celebration the store also offered a 10% discount to customers on top of all current offers.
The funds raised for the Eastbourne RNLI Lifeboat Station which provide a 24-hour lifeboat search and rescue cover for the town’s coastline, will be used to purchase new equipment for the station.
Martin East, store director in Eastbourne said: ‘This really is a landmark anniversary for the store and it seems like only yesterday that we opened.
There is never a dull moment and I have seen the store go from strength to strength. I feel very fortunate to work with such a great team and I look forward to welcoming customers and local residents into the store over the weekend join in with the celebrations. ‘I’d also like to thank all of our customers for their continued support as we really couldn’t have done it without them.’
