Dudley Specsavers has taken part in a recent roadshow, encouraging local residents to take ownership of their health and wellbeing.
The store jumped on board to support the Dudley Health Roadshow which stopped in town on Monday 10 October. It was sponsored by the store, as well as Dudley Metropolitan Borough Council and Public Health England, promoting good health and wellbeing for all.
Store director, Gurdeep Dosanjh, was invited to support the cause as an eye expert. He was delighted to share his knowledge and comments: ‘Roadshows like these are an excellent way to get those crucial messages across. It is so important that people recognise eye tests as not only an indication of eye health, but of your general health. A full eye test, which includes digital retinal photography, can detect diabetes, glaucoma, cataracts and several other health conditions.
‘This roadshow was also the perfect opportunity to speak to Dudley residents about their eye health and encourage them to book in for an eye test. As a Healthy Living Optician, we advise our customers to have an eye test every two years.
‘Our vision is one of our most valuable senses so it’s really important that we give our eyes the care they deserve.’ said Gurdeep.
Specsavers Dudley use digital retinal photography (at no extra cost) during a routine sight test to take a detailed photo of the back of the eye so they can analyse how healthy it is as well as pick up on a variety of common health issues.
