Droitwich Specsavers is asking local people to donate goodie-filled shoeboxes for the annual Operation Christmas Child appeal.
Donate by Sunday 22 November
The store is acting as a drop-off point for the appeal this year, with staff collecting shoeboxes on behalf of the Samaritan’s Purse charity from now until Sunday 22 November. The boxes, filled with gifts such as toys, school supplies and toiletries will be taken to the charity’s local hub before being distributed to disadvantaged children around the world. For £3, donators can register to track their shoebox to its destination.
Help support children worldwide
Store director Emma Singh said: ‘We’re proud to be supporting Operation Christmas Child again this year. Christmas is a time for giving and by donating a box we can support those less fortunate than ourselves, and help put a smile on children’s faces in less-advantaged parts of the world.’
Generous customers are asked to indicate whether their shoebox is intended for a boy or a girl, as well as their age category – two to four-years-old, five to nine, or ten to 14. For a full list of what is suitable to include, or for more information, please visit www.samaritans-purse.org.uk
