The Specsavers team in Droitwich has hosted a letter hunt to raise awareness for National Children’s Eye Health Month (24 October – 23 November) and Worcestershire Royal Hospital.
During the half term break, local children were found channeling their inner spy and locating hidden letters disguised in shop fronts and stores throughout St. Andrews Square.
To claim the goody bag prizes, which included sweets, balloons and activities, youngsters needed to find all the letters to spell out optometrist.
The activity was designed to increase awareness around the importance of good eye care among children.
A word from the store director
‘It was a great to see so many local children come down to the square and take part in the letter hunt,’ commented store director, Emma Singh. ‘Good eye health plays such an important role in a child’s development, which is something we really wanted to push through the half term break.
‘The letter hunt around St Andrews Square was the perfect opportunity to get the message out there and hopefully encourage more parents to take advantage of the free sight tests available for their children.’
As well as the free NHS sight test, all glasses in Specsavers’ kids £64 and teens £85 ranges are free for under 16s, with a second pair from these ranges included at no extra cost. Both pairs can come with scratch-resistant treatment or tinted prescription lenses and a UV filter free in the second pair.
