Seven new jobs have been created with the opening of a new opticians in the Grove Shopping Centre in Downpatrick.
The £250,000 investment in the town has been made by Specsavers directors Lynsey Caldwell and Paula Cunningham, who have run the successful Specsavers Connswater store in east Belfast for last 16 years.
Over 35 years’ experience
Together the pair have over 35 years’ experience in providing essential health services to local people. Seven new jobs have been created, with five people from the Downpatrick area filling optical assistants posts. The new store has state of the art facilities including two test rooms and a hearing centre with a soundproof room for hearing testing.
Cutting edge facilities
Store Director Paula Cunningham, said: 'We are delighted to open a new Specsavers branch in Downpatrick to bring our services to people living in the town and surrounding areas which have not had local access to a Specsavers store until now.
