Improving the customer experience
The initiative, which was developed with The National Autistic Society, aims to help improve the customer experience for people with autism and their carers by building staff knowledge about the lifelong developmental disability.
Understanding our customers
Simon Hill, store director at Specsavers in Diss says: ‘Over the years there have certainly been occasions where we have had customers with autism, so it’s vital to have team members with the skillset needed to support them. It’s so important for us to understand our customers the best we can and this training has really helped us support those people affected.
Learning modules included in the training covered topics such as understanding autism; communicating with people with autism; how autism can impact the senses, and adjustments that practices can make.
