As part of Specsavers’ national sponsorship of Brake’s annual initiative, Road Safety Week (17-23 November), the store in Devizes handed over 200 high visibility vests to Southbroom Infants School. The donation will help ensure each pupil can stay safe and seen during the winter months.
Karen Carvallo, store director at Devizes, said: ‘Now the clocks have gone back and the evenings are darker, it’s more important than ever that children are seen clearly. Hopefully, the vests will give teachers and parents some peace of mind, while reaffirming the importance of road safety and looking out for each other.’
Mrs Caroline Jackson, head teacher at Southbroom, said: ‘Many thanks for our fantastic new high visibility jackets – the children have already worn them on local trips in and around Devizes. Road Safety is very important when we are out and about in town and these will remind the children about the importance of staying safe and being seen.’
