Specsavers in Dartford felt like a little Beijing last week, when the team decided to go all-in to celebrate the beginning of the Year of The Dog.
Staff members wore red and prepared delicious Chinese treats to share with their curious customers. Together with their eye tests and consultations, customers were also invited to learn their Chinese zodiac sign.
A word from the store director
Kam Singh, store director at Specsavers in Dartford, said: ‘We never celebrated Chinese New Year before, but it was something the team and I felt really passionate about.
‘We had a lot of fun setting everything up for the day and we hope our customers enjoyed the entertainment too’.
The holiday is believed to be more than 2,000 years old and is tied to the traditional Chinese calendar, which is based on the lunar cycle. It starts on the new moon occurring between Jan. 21 and Feb. 20.
