Specsavers Dalkeith raised £135.28 for Royal National Institute of Blind People (RNIB) through a bake sale in store during National Eye Health week (18 - 24 September).
The staff baked up a storm and sold their sweet treats to customers with all funds going to RNIB.
A word from our store director
Craig Selbie, store director at Specsavers Dalkeith, said: ‘I’d like to thank all our staff for all getting involved and for our customers who donated money to this great charity. The funds raised really will make a difference.’
Recent YouGov data, commissioned by Specsavers and RNIB, found that people in the UK are not taking their eye health as seriously as they should – despite regular eye tests being able to potentially detect signs of major health conditions including brain tumours, heart disease, strokes and diabetes.
