When it comes to career progression, Clare and Ryan are glad they went to Specsavers!
On track to becoming a store partner
Clare Hasler has been with Specsavers for 17 years where she quickly made her mark, rising up the ranks to become a store manager when she was only 23 years old. Her appetite to keep learning and evolving is illustrated by her recent success, qualifying as a Dispensing Optician. To achieve this, Clare embarked on a 3 year course at City and Islingston College and Specsavers was delighted to fund and support her training.
Clare's sights are now set on becoming a contact lens optician, something that is more than achievable with Specsavers support with her education. The ultimate goal, however, is to be a part owner of her own store.
Step forward The Dagenham Apprentice!
The team is thrilled to see Ryan Wells complete his one year optical retail apprenticeship at Specsavers Dagenham. Ryan is one of the 240 people who enrolled onto one of the UK's biggest government-accredited scheme in 2015 and now has his sights on a future management role with the business.
Ryan Wells says: "When you leave school, it is really hard to know what career is right for you. Enrolling on an apprenticeship was the best thing I ever did. I have gained experience across all facets of the business, from accounting, to marketing, shop floor customer service and the medical side with the eye tests."
Are you the next apprentice?
Store director Gurjit Singh Sehmi says: "We believe that apprenticeships are a great way to unlock the potential of young people and provide a way for them to embark on successful and fulfilling careers. We are actively seeking apprentices to join our team, so do pop into our store to learn more."
