This Children’s Hospice Week (22 – 28 May), staff at Specsavers in Cwmbran are asking members of the public to donate spare items to help a Welsh children’s charity.
The team will be accepting items including clothes, homeware, books, furniture and electronics, which will be bagged and sent to the nearby Tŷ Hafan store located in Cwmbran Shopping Centre. It has asked, however, that people do not donate video tapes, cassettes, analogue TVs or upholstered furniture without a fire safety label.
Children’s Hospice Week aims to raise awareness of children with life-limiting conditions, celebrating the lifeline services that these children and their families rely on. Tŷ Hafan has provided these vital services to hundreds of children across Wales since opening in 1999.
‘Proud to be collecting donations’
Mark Edwards, store director at Specsavers in Cwmbran, says: ‘Tŷ Hafan is a charity close to our hearts, so we are proud to be collecting donations for one of its retail stores during Children’s Hospice Week.
‘Every donation – however big or small – will be hugely appreciated and will support the continued efforts of this fantastic charity.’
