Locally owned and operated Specsavers Cupar has reported positive sales after a busy few months since the store opened in March of this year.
The opticians and audiologists on Cupar High Street has completed more than 1,500 eye tests and 125 hearing appointments during its opening period and hopes to welcome more new customers through its doors.
This new state-of-the-art store at 32 Crossgate represents a £360,000 investment for the town and created six job opportunities locally when it opened.
The store team is managed by owner and director Robert Adie, a Fife local who has more than ten years’ experience with Specsavers.
Robert Adie, store director at Specsavers Cupar, said: ‘We’ve enjoyed an exciting few months here in Cupar, engaging with the community and meeting new customers.’
Fully equipped with the latest technology and equipment in three test rooms, Specsavers Cupar offers advanced optical services six days a week and a dedicated hearcare clinic once a week from a custom-built soundproof room.
Latest technology and equipment
Specsavers Cupar has invested in an OCT (optical coherence tomography) scan which can help detect treatable eye conditions such as diabetic retinopathy and macular degeneration sooner.
The scan, which only takes a few seconds, allows an optician to look deeper into the eyes than ever before and it can help to detect glaucoma up to four years in advance. An OCT scan is in addition to a standard eye test and costs £10, it can be requested in advance when booking an appointment or in store.
Catering for all budgets and the fashion conscious residents of Cupar, the store is designed with a large retail space at the front to display a wide variety of glasses from all ranges including its designer collections.
Robert, added: ‘We hope to build on the momentum from opening and further integrate ourselves into the Cupar community. If you’re due a sight or hearing check, pop into store today.’
