A team member from Cribbs Causeway has laced up her walking shoes and raised more than £1,200 in aid of a close friend suffering from rare brain tumours.
Charity walk from Patchway High School
Paris Kodola (21), team member at Specsavers in Cribbs Causeway and her twin sister, Sam, organised an eight-mile walk from Patchway High School into the centre of town to help raise vital funds for Stephanie Hunt (21).
Stephanie was diagnosed with rare central neurocytoma tumours on her brain and is having to travel abroad for ten weeks to undergo proton beam therapy to remove them.
Inspiration to everyone
Paris explained: ‘We were so pleased with how many of our friends and family turned up to support the activity. It’s a cause that is very close to our hearts and we’re hoping this money goes a long way in helping Stephanie and her family on the journey ahead.
‘Stephanie is an inspiration to us all, and we think supporting her is the least we could do. All money raised will be contributing towards the cost of food and other living expenses while abroad.’
A word from the store director
Cribbs Causeway store director, Gaurav Patel said: ‘We’re really proud of Paris for organising this walk for her friend Stephanie. Any donations – whether big or small – will really help, so please dig deep for this important cause and donate.’
