Career in optics
‘This was a great opportunity to discuss the benefits of a career in optics with so many students,’ said store director, Gaurav Patel. ‘We were able to chat about the various optical career paths; whether that’s studying to become an optometrist or looking more at the retail side of the business.’
Gaurav added: ‘It was also great to talk to the students about apprenticeships. As a great alternative to university, the Specsavers apprenticeship scheme allows young people to unlock their full potential in a supportive environment. I’d like to encourage anyone in the local area who is interested in apprenticeships to get in touch.’
The event saw 1,800 young people, who will soon be leaving secondary education, engaging with employers, education and training providers about their future career progression.
