Kind-hearted customers at the Crewe store helped to raise over £200 for Red Nose Day, supporting the store’s action -filled weekend of fundraising (18-19 March).
The team were joined by hundreds of customers over the weekend for Comic Relief capers including a charity raffle and a bake sale, packed with tasty treats baked by the staff, raising £233 for Red Nose Day.
Aim for the target
A few, daring members of the team also took a very heads-on approach as they volunteered to be the targets in a wet sponge throwing challenge.
Michael Elleray, store director at Specsavers Crewe, says: ‘Seeing the amount of fun had and support shared from everyone over the weekend was brilliant. We want to thank all of our customers who very generously donated to such a great cause.
‘I’d also like to extend my thanks to the team for their hard work across the weekend, including those willing to get a little soaked for charity.’
Specsavers in Crewe has joined Specsavers stores nationwide to support Comic Relief by pledging to raise at least £250,000 this Red Nose Day to help change countless lives both here in the UK and across Africa.
Specsavers has been a Red Nose Day partner since 2015.
