Tell us a bit about yourself
I’m 27 and originally from Northern Ireland. I moved to Edinburgh and started work with Specsavers after I graduated University. Outside of work, I am a keen golfer and have a passion for all music and song writing.
How did you come to run a Specsavers store?
After completing my degree in optometry at University of Ulster, I moved to Edinburgh and started working with Specsavers. I quickly developed a passion for not only my job but for Specsavers as a company, and knew that I wanted to work towards opening my own store. I was offered so much support and guidance from Specsavers in order to achieve this.
What’s the best part of your role?
Working with and meeting local people. In Corstorphine, community is everything and we have been overwhelmed with the welcome we’ve received as a new business to the area. Our aim is to bring the best quality eyecare and hearcare to this community.
What does an eye test involve?
During a routine eye examination, I will not only test the patients vision to ensure any glasses required are of the best quality but I will also carry out comprehensive tests to screen for conditions such as Cataracts, Glaucoma, Macular Degeneration and Diabetes.
Does your store also offer Hearcare?
Yes, we offer a hearcare service in store every week with our experienced Audiologists. All examinations are free and our products are extremely competitively priced.
Who should consider getting a hearing test?
We advise anyone over the age of 18 who feels they may have hearing loss to pop along for a screener check. This is free and only takes a few minutes.
How can patients book an eye or hearing test?
Appointments can be booked in person, over the telephone or on our website.
