Coleraine’s Specsavers and hearing centre are marking it's tenth year sponsoring the annual Rathmore Golf Club fundraising golf day on 4 May 2015 by donating all funds raised to Macmillan Cancer Support.
Almost £20,000 raised
Store director, Judith Ball, said: ‘We have supported Rathmore’s Golf Day since 2005 and every year the funds generated have been given to the club to help develop its juvenile facilities. So far almost £20,000 has been raised and we would expect to raise well over £2,000 again this year. To celebrate this tenth year milestone of involvement in the tournament we have decided to donate all the money raised to Macmillan in Coleraine. With over 200 players expected to compete it promises to be a very successful day.’
Supporting local people
Macmillan Cancer Support is a local leading charity who provides practical, financial and emotional support to local people affected by cancer in Northern Ireland.
Thanks from MacMillan
Stefanie Mearns, Macmillan fundraiser, Coleraine, said: ‘We are delighted to be supported by Specsavers Coleraine in their upcoming Golf Day as we rely solely on voluntary donations to provide our essential local services. Every penny raised will be used to ensure no-one in Coleraine faces cancer alone.’
