Customers to the Specsavers store in Coleraine recently enjoyed a special treat meeting Ushi the guide dog and hearing all about his life with owner Torrie Tennant.
Ushi and Torrie were attending a great Guide Dogs Tea Party hosted by Specsavers to both raise awareness of the charity’s work and raise much-needed funds.
Living with sight loss
Coleraine Store Director Judith Ball says: ‘We have worked for many years with the charity Guide Dogs NI and have huge admiration for the work they do in supporting people living with sight loss. The in-store pop-up tea party was a great way to let our customers meet Ushi and some volunteers and to see at first-hand how valuable their work is.
'Over a cup of tea, we were also able to raise some much-needed funds and are most grateful to our customers for their donations.’
