The Colchester store will provide a bundle of treats without the tricks next week at their annual spook-tacular kids’ days, with an array of costumes, goody bags and family fun on show.
Kids days dedicated to children's clinics
Staff will swap their uniforms for spooky costumes – from storybook villains to witches and wizards – when the store hosts two special kids’ days on Tuesday 24 October and Thursday 26 October, dedicating both days to children’s clinics in store.
There will be an abundance of activities including a movie marathon in store.
Store director, Nick Hagan, says: ‘This is one of our favourite traditions in store, and with the days landing within National Children’s Eye Health Week we thought it was more appropriate than ever to bring a focus to children’s eye health, something that is often overlooked.
‘Come in store next week and let your children enjoy the spooky fun while making sure their eyesight is in check.’
Free School Screeners for children
To support National Children’s Eye Health Week, Specsavers Colchester is also offering SchoolScreener EZ software free of charge. The software is unique in being suitable for use with children as they progress through school up to age 18 and includes a colour vision test.
SchoolScreener EZ, created by Thomson Screening, has been designed to be operated by teachers or classroom assistants and has 45 different language options. Schools can register to receive their free kit at screeningforschools.co.uk. More than 2,000 primary and secondary schools have registered and received the software to date.
