Colchester children were served up a treat this half term with classic books, movies and a cast of characters at their local store, all in aid of the International Fund for Animal Welfare.
Staff swapped their uniforms for book-themed costumes such as Harry Potter and Alice in Wonderland and hosted two special kids’ days this Easter.
Activities on the day included a competition for the best kids costume and a movie marathon as the local community showed their support for the special day.
Films ran throughout, from Aladdin to Tangled, with another section of the store dedicated to keeping children educated in the holidays with an array of books and a visit from Colchester Zoo’s Puddles the penguin to keep little customers entertained.
Valuing customers of all ages
The store announced joint winners of their fancy dress costume with Disney-themed prizes and a ticket to Colchester Zoo.
Store director, Nick Hagan says: ‘This is one of our favourite traditions especially in busy times such as Easter, and it’s always great to see the creative costumes. We value customers of all age ranges and always aim to put on kids’ events in store when we can.’
