A local Rotary Club is hoping to hit a hole in one later this month at a fundraiser for Beatson at Monklands Hospital and other community projects.
The golf day event, sponsored by Specsavers, will be held at Airdrie Golf Club on Thursday 25 May with participants and organisers aiming to beat the superb fundraising total of £2,600 from last year. The top prize this year will be a round of golf for four at the famous Gleneagles Golf Club with another 18 holes up for grabs in the evening raffle.
Specsavers in Airdrie and Coatbridge have partnered with The Rotary Club of Coatbridge, Airdrie and Monklands for several events in recent years which all support local community projects and charities. Previous beneficiaries include Maggies centre, CHAS and Spinal Research as well as grants for local school projects.
A fantastic annual fundraiser
Keith Sharp, Specsavers store director, said: ‘We are proud to team up with The Rotary Club of Coatbridge, Airdrie and Monklands which supports various charities and community causes every year.
‘The golf day event has been a fantastic annual fundraiser and we hope this year will, once again, be a huge success and raise a great sum for Beatson at Monklands Hospital.
‘Any last minute entries of teams of four can get information on the rotary club website, or contact me at the Coatbridge store.’
