Specsavers in Clydebank is joining Specsavers stores nationwide in support of Comic Relief and Red Nose Day.
Staff at the store, in the Clyde Shopping Centre, will be taking part in fun activities to encourage customers to donate to the cause – and all money raised will help poor and vulnerable people living tough lives both in the UK and across Africa.
On Friday 24 March, staff will be dressing up in their silliest red costumes and wearing crazy specs to attract donations. Customers will get the chance to take part in raffles and competitions, and youngsters can get involved in a game of Guess the bear’s birthday in exchange for a small donation to the charity.
A word from our store director
Specsavers Clydebank store director Charles Kinsey said: ‘We’re all very excited about the Comic Relief activities, and we can’t wait to see customers getting involved in the fundraising.
‘Comic Relief carries out fantastic work all over the world and it’s important for us to do all we can to raise money for the cause.
‘We hope that customers will pop into the store to show their support.’
Comedy waving hand glasses, priced just £2, are available in store now. All money raised from sales of the specs will be donated to Comic Relief. The glasses come in adult and children’s sizes.
Customers are also being encouraged to take a waving selfie while wearing the glasses and share it on social media using the hashtag #giveusawave
