Youngsters in Clevedon have been learning all about eye health thanks to a visit from Specsavers.
Krishna Chauhan spent time with children at Rydal Day Nursery to talk about visiting the opticians and wearing glasses.
‘It was lovely to spend time with some of the children at the nursery to talk about eye health and getting your first pair of specs,’ said Krishna. ‘So much of what children learn is through their vision, so helping children feel at ease about visiting the opticians and wearing glasses is really beneficial.’
With around 80% of what is taught in schools being presented visually, being able to see clearly is incredibly important to children’s overall development and it is recommended that children have their first sight test by the age of three.
At Specsavers, under-16s receive free sight tests and kids’ glasses from the £64 and £85 are free with under-16s’ NHS funding.
