The team at Specsavers in Chiswick has completed additional training to provide a greater level of care to customers living with glaucoma.

Staff members from the store have taken a course developed in conjunction with the International Glaucoma Association, which has helped develop their skills in assisting customers suffering with glaucoma.

Global support

The news comes as Specsavers stores across the UK showed their support for World Glaucoma Week (11-18 March), an initiative designed to raise awareness of the condition that is thought to affect around 700,000 people in the UK.

Irfan Akhtar, store director at Specsavers Chiswick, said: ‘We have completed the training to ensure we are offering the highest level of care and service to people living with glaucoma, and we are proud to support the International Glaucoma Association in raising awareness of this serious eye condition.’
