A Chesterfield optician has demonstrated its commitment to the local community by donating £150 to a stillbirth and neo-natal death charity.

A vital local resource
Specsavers on Burlington Street in Chesterfield donated the money to Chesterfield Sands after recognising the importance of the charity’s work, which offers support to local parents who have suffered the loss of a baby.

A word from the director
Speaking about the donation, Vicki Bainbridge, retail director at Specsavers in Chesterfield, said: ‘The team here at the store feels really strongly about supporting local charities and Chesterfield Sands is just that, as it was set up by local parents.

The charity works really hard to offer support to anyone affected by the loss of a baby, at any stage of pregnancy, before, during or after birth, and we hope our donation will go some way to enabling Chesterfield Sands to continue to provide such valuable services to the local community.’
