The team from Specsavers in Cheltenham wore crazy hats to mark Wear A Hat Day (Thursday 29 March) and raised funds for Brain Tumour Research.
Store director, Melanie Brackstone, said: ‘We’re always keen to get involved when it comes to fundraising events. We had great fun wearing hats to raise awareness for Brain Tumour Research, enabling the charity to continue with its invaluable research.’
Brain tumours kill more children and adults under the age of 40 than any other cancer, yet just 1% of the national spend on cancer research has been allocated to this devastating disease.
‘Eye tests are more than prescription checks as underlying conditions can be picked up, including brain tumours,’ continued Melanie. ‘This is why we recommend everyone has an eye test once every two years, even if you don’t wear specs.’
