Specsavers Cheltenham has been chosen as the Cheltenham BID business of the month for July, joining a select list of Cheltenham businesses recognised for their contribution to BID projects.
Throughout the year the store has supported a range of local and national causes through coffee mornings, bake sales, sponsored walks, raffles, donations and in-store activities as well as BID events such as Cheltenham Beauty Week. PR coordinator Emily Ashman said; ‘We’re always keen to get involved in local events and support charities any way we can. Cheltenham BID have been hugely supportive of the store and we are thrilled to be chosen as the member of the month because of the work we do in the local community.’
‘We chose Specsavers to be our member of the month because of their engagement with the local community, charities and schools as well as their enthusiasm to be involved with BID projects’ commented Cheltenham BID.
In recent months the store has taken on a fourth participant from the Going the Extra Mile project, which works with individuals dealing with circumstances which may be causing barriers to work. They have also signed up for the Keep Safe scheme which aims to provide an easily identifiable safe space and assistance to vulnerable adults who may be in town on their own.
‘We have lots more events planned for the rest of the year and we hope our customers will pop into store or come and see us while we’re out and about to help us support some great causes’, said Emily.
