Specsavers Cheltenham has helped two members of staff achieve Association of British Dispensing Opticians (ABDO) qualifications.
Paulette Green joined Specsavers in Cheltenham five years ago, as a qualified dispensing optician but had an ambition to earn a new qualification. The store supported Paulette’s wish, as she completed a one-year ABDO course to become a qualified contact lens optician.
Paulette said: ‘The store directors were incredibly supportive and paid for me to complete the course. They trusted and believed in me and I can’t thank them enough for giving me this fabulous opportunity.’
Mary Court has been a member of the team in Cheltenham for six years. Having previously achieved her Cert 3 and Cert 4 qualification, Mary wanted to continue her progression. She recently finished a two-year ABDO course to become a qualified dispensing optician.
Mary said: ‘The career progression at Specsavers is amazing. My courses have been fully funded by the store and I am looking forward to progressing further in the future.’
A word from the store director
