Chelmsley Wood Specsavers triumphed at this year’s Optician Awards, taking home the Contact Lens Patient Engagement Award. The Optician Awards – organised by national trade magazine, Optician – have been running for more than 15 years and recognise the work of opticians across the UK in 16 categories.
The store was up against four other opticians from across the UK as it picked up one of the most prestigious awards in optics. Recognising the store’s use of innovative ideas which have helped to make contact lenses available for the majority of customers, the team was presented with the award during a ceremony at Birmingham’s Vox Conference Centre on Saturday (9 April).
A word from store director Sukhi Drake
‘We had a fantastic time at the awards evening on Saturday and are absolutely thrilled to have won this award for our work in contact lenses,’
‘The Optician Awards are one of the highest accolades in our profession, so this is a wonderful achievement for the whole team and really demonstrates our commitment to providing an excellent service for all our customers.
‘Many people can feel uncomfortable about wearing glasses which makes contact lenses a fantastic alternative, so we do our best to make that a clear and affordable option for customers. As with anything new, contacts can take time to get used to so we try to make sure customers are completely comfortable with their lenses, offering free trials and aftercare.’
