Staff at Specsavers Chelmsley Wood took part in Elf Day (9 December), raising more than £65 for the Alzheimer’s Society.
The team hosted a Christmas cake sale and offered visitors a cup of tea and mince pie in return for donations to the charity. There was also a ‘guess the number of sweets in the jar’ competition running, with the lucky winner getting to take home the contents!
Customers were be able to join in with the elf theme by taking an ‘elfie selfie’ in store, plus there was a guess the name of the elf competition to enter too.
‘This is a great initiative organised by the Alzheimer’s Society and, as many of us have been touched by the disease, was one we were keen to support,’ said store director, Sukhi Drake.
The Alzheimer’s Society is the UK's leading dementia support and research charity, for anyone affected by any form of dementia in England, Wales and Northern Ireland.
