Staff at Specsavers Chelmsley Wood have donated winter warmer care packs to homeless people in the local area, in aid of Crisis, the national charity for homeless people.
The team wanted to support the charity in extending a helping hand to the homeless people of Chelmsley Wood, deciding to organise and fund their own care packs. Each package included a woolly jumper, hat, scarf, socks, gloves, toiletries, some sweets, biscuits and a Christmas card.
A word from the store director
Store director, Sukhi Drake, was very proud of her staff and their generosity: ‘We have such a great team here and they organised and funded the entire exercise on their own. It’s so important to realise, that there are a lot of people experiencing real hardship who are asking for our help. We hope that these care packs keep them warmer this winter and encourage others in the community to offer their support.’
Crisis is the national charity for homeless people in the UK. They are dedicated to ending homelessness by delivering life-changing services and campaigning for change.
