Staff at Chelmsley Wood Specsavers are celebrating after being nominated for a prestigious industry award.
Shortlisted for the Contact Lens Patient Engagement Award – a brand new category in this year’s Optician Awards – Specsavers at 2-4 Greenwood Square is one of three opticians in the running. The winner will be announced at a gala dinner on 9 April, which will be held at Birmingham’s Vox Conference Centre.
Taking into account how the team engages customers and ensures maximum comfort for contact lens wearers, the panel of judges will be looking for opticians employing exciting and innovative strategies which benefit their customers.
‘It’s wonderful to be recognised for our work in contact lenses and we’re delighted to be representing Specsavers on a national stage,’ said Paul Cooper, store director. ‘Contacts can be a fantastic alternative to glasses but many people are worried about making the transition, so we always aim to help customers feel comfortable using contacts, and our expert team and free trials mean we’re able to do just that.
‘We’re really proud of our team’s commitment to delivering excellent service for each of our customers and to be shortlisted in this category really reflects that.’
The Optician Awards – organised by national trade magazine, Optician – have been running for more than 15 years and recognise the work of opticians across the UK in 16 categories. The awards evening will also play host to several fundraising events, raising money for Blind Veterans UK.
