The team at Specsavers Chatham recently held a charity Christmas bake sale at the High Street store.
And they raised a fantastic £237 for the children’s charity Make-A-Wish UK.
London Marathon challenge
The event was the brainchild of contact lens advisor Melissa, who is running the London Marathon for the charity in April 2020.
Melissa needs to raise £2000 in total, and has nearly reached her target thanks to cake sales, quiz evenings and collecting donations at Tesco.
Real life superwoman
Punit Patel, store director in Chatham, said: ‘Melissa is a real inspiration to all of us for taking on such a big challenge for such a good cause.
‘She works to support our customers three days a week, and is also a mother of six, so for her to take on this additional challenge – and all the fundraising too – makes her a real life superwoman. We are really proud to have her on the team.’
