After a heroic day of fundraising, the Carmarthen team has raised £100 for a children’s charity based in West Wales.
Animated customer service
Raphael from the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, a Minion and the villainous Marvel character Venom were among the characters who served customers at the Specsavers store on Merlin’s Walk.
Antihero Harley Quinn and Pocahontas also encouraged people to donate to the dress-up day and participate in a ‘guess the toy bunny’s name’ competition.
A great cause
The store donated all proceeds to Cerebra. The charity, headquartered in Carmarthen, provides support and practical help to children with brain conditions and their families - from sleep practitioner sessions, offering families advice and guidance to improve their sleep, to customised wheelchairs.
Lorna Phillips, store manager of Specsavers Carmarthen, says: ‘Cerebra is a great cause that is local to our store and we are proud to raise money for its work. The costumes raised a smile and allowed us to speak to our customers and passers-by about the important work the charity does for families across the country. When people heard about the range of support services it provides, they didn’t hesitate to contribute.’
