Specsavers staff in Carmarthen have raised more than £230 in support of the Welsh charity, Velindre Cancer Care.
Supporting the cause
The team at Carmarthen Specsavers held a Red, White and Blue day by decorating the store and wearing matching colours in celebration of Independence Day.
Staff also held a bake sale in store, which saw members of the team bring in an array of cakes, cupcakes and treats to sell to customers in return for a donation to Velindre.
Kevin McCarthy, store director of Specsavers in Carmarthen, said: ‘Unfortunately, too many of us know someone who has been affected by cancer, and Velindre provides the vital support and care for both patients and their families.
‘The charity provides an invaluable service to more than 1.5 million people across south Wales and it treats approximately 50,000 new outpatients each year. Staff at Specsavers in Carmarthen wanted to show their support to the amazing teams at Velindre by hosting a very successful fundraising event in store.’
