People visiting or passing Specsavers Carmarthen did a double-take on the royal wedding weekend as staff hosted an afternoon tea fundraiser sporting royal family masks.
Royal wedding fever
As wedding fever swept the nation, the Merlin’s Walk team took the opportunity to channel their favourite royal for the tea, hosted in aid of Cerebra – a charity that supports children with brain conditions and their families.
Specsavers stores across south and mid Wales have chosen the Carmarthen-headquartered organisation as its charity of the year. Cerebra is currently supporting 4,500 families across Wales.
Making a difference
Kevin McCarthy, store director at Specsavers in Carmarthen, says: ‘When everyone started to get excited about Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s big day we asked ourselves how we could channel the buzz in a way that would benefit Cerebra.
‘A royal wedding-themed afternoon tea party seemed like the ideal way. Fortunately, customers and passers-by seemed more than happy to make a donation in exchange for a bite to eat. We had fun and raised £50 for the charity in the process, so thanks to everyone who joined us.’
