All eyes are on Specsavers in Carmarthen as it relocates to new premises in Merlin’s Walk.

Store directors, Kevin McCarthy and Sam Hodson, have confirmed the opticians will open the doors of its new home on 4 September after almost 30 years at 5 Hall Street.

Expanding services to include audiology

The business is relocating to unit 23 Merlin’s Walk, which was previously occupied by retailer, Game. It will continue to offer optical services to the Carmarthen community seven days a week, but is expanding to also provide audiology services.

Kevin McCarthy, store director, says: ‘We have had a very successful time at 5 Hall Street, but in order to meet the growing demand for our services we need a bigger store to ensure that we are providing the best service possible to our customers.

Double number of test rooms

‘The number of test rooms will be doubled – up to six – at the new store, and they will all be conveniently located on the ground floor. We’re also bolstering the team by employing a new manager and two optical assistants. It’s a very exciting time for us and we look forward to welcoming our customers to the new store in September.’
