The Cardigan team organised a bake sale Paul Hollywood would be proud of - raising £70 for Wales-based children’s charity Cerebra in the process.
Channelling their inner bakers
Staff at the high street store channelled their inner bakers to create a selection of homemade treats for the Cerebra fundraising event. Customers were encouraged to make a small contribution in exchange for a cake to help raise funds for the charity’s work with children with brain conditions and their families.
Cerebra provides support, information and guidance to the families, and funds research into evidence-based solutions for problems identified by the families and carers of children with brain conditions. At its Innovation Centre, experts create items for the children free of charge, such as bespoke surfboards, to improve their quality of life.
Proud to contribute
Rowena Greasley, store manager at Specsavers Cardigan, says: ‘The team always make a great effort when we host a fundraiser and this one has been no exception.
‘The Cardigan community never fails to show its generosity. People always dig deep to support such worthwhile causes such as this one. Cerebra helps so many families across the country access the vital help they need. We’re proud to be able to make a contribution.’
