Staff from Specsavers in Cannock took part in the Toughest Mudder challenge on Saturday 12 May and raised more than £1,200 for Muscular Dystrophy UK.
Kitted up with head torches to run through the night, store directors, Claire Blandford and Randeep Singh, worked together and tackled the 30-mile obstacle course in eight hours, starting at midnight.
A word from the store director
Claire commented: ‘It certainly wasn’t a walk in the park, but we helped each other get through it and had lots of fun along the way. The feeling of accomplishment after is not like any other and we would highly recommend Toughest Mudder to anyone wanting to take on a fundraising challenge.
‘We have a close link to our chosen charity and we’d like to thank everyone who has made a donation so far to help us reach such an impressive total. Our fundraising page is still open and any contribution is greatly appreciated.’
A good cause
Muscular Dystrophy UK brings individuals, families and professionals together to fight muscle-wasting conditions. Muscular Dystrophy (MD) is a progressive disease and can be diagnosed through physical examinations, blood tests or muscle biopsies. The disease affects more than 70,000 people in the UK.
