The Specsavers hearing centre in Cannock has been fundraising for Action on Hearing Loss while holding open days to provide information on the latest in hearing technology.
The store raised a total of £68 through a ‘Big Ear’ collection and an in-store raffle which gave customers the chance to win a pair of Advance hearing aids worth £1,995. In addition to the fundraiser, audiologists were on hand to answer any questions about hearing aids and the hearing checks offered in store.
Christine Smith, audiology director at Specsavers Cannock, said: ‘We were keen to dispel some of the myths about hearing aids and show the advances made in the technology. With a range of so many different and updated options, we wanted to highlight that it could be time for those suffering from hearing loss to take another look at the options out there.
Importance of hearing health
‘Hearing health can often be overlooked or ignored, and we want customers to be aware of what is now available to help them care for their hearing. Our new AudioPad uses a tablet device to carry out a 15-minute 4-point hearing check to indicate whether a customer has hearing loss and needs a more in-depth appointment with an audiologist. We are proud to be one of Specsavers’ ambassadors for this new service.’
